I have a secret to tell you.
Did you know saying “yes” to God puts you on the devil’s hit list.
This is a not-so-fun fact, but obeying The Word of God puts a target on your back for the kingdom of darkness to attack. Quiet as it’s kept, the devil could care less about your house, your marriage, your job, your bank account, etc. etc. etc.
The devil only cares about what you care about to the degree that these cares can corrupt your faith. Any area of our lives where troubled waters can stir up unbelief are mouthwatering for the devil to attempt to devour. These areas signify weak points in God’s strategy for sovereignty in the Earth through believers who are called to be living temples for The Kingdom of Heaven. Faith is our real fight. The devil knows better than you and me that the real source of our well-being is belief in The Good News. Our faith in God’s love for us through the sacrificial offering of his son is everything! When we stand ten toes down in faith on Ebenezer, our solid rock of help, we open up doors for the Kingdom of God to take dominion in the Earth.
The love of God operating on the inside of us is greater than the works of the devil.
The State Of The World
The world is a scary place right now. Satan, who is the prince of the air and the high governing authority of dark influence in the Earth, has many people, families, institutions, communities, nations, and destinies in a chokehold.
This is not because the kingdom of darkness, aka evil, has legal authority over God’s Children at all. Instead, most of God’s children have come into agreement with hell and come under demonic influence, oppression, and/or possession by way of societal norms that are actually sin. The Bible puts it this way:
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.”
Hosea 4:6-7
Real "Love Making"
This past year, I have been in a masterclass on what it means to love unconditionally like God and to practice staying in his presence daily against all odds.
To tell you the truth, this has been one of the most painful seasons of my life. If I had a theme song to anchor this statement in, it would be true to my native West Philly girl heart; Dreams and Nightmares by Meek Mill.
At the top of 2023, I shared The Word Of The Lord “There’ll Be Lovemaking” and the scriptures it was anchored in Song of Solomon 4:9-12, Romans 8:28 - 38, and 1 Corinthians 13.
Knowing what I know now and looking back on this spiritual care package, I can see all the ways in which God created opportunities these last 18 months to teach me how to really “make love” Kingdom style. This is costly business. It requires one to share in the sufferings of Christ that through his resurrection power, we too shall be lifted.
“I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, 11 so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!
I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.” Philippians 3:10 - 12

It was not even scratching the surface regarding what the Heavens are opening up to teach all of creation about the true nature of being made in the image of God, who is love.
“And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”
1 John 4:16-18 KJV
The Goodness Report
In this age of information, we know so little about the greatest knowledge, wisdom, and understanding one could ever have as a defense against evil.
“The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.”
1 Peter 4:7-8
Love is the greatest currency in all of creation and gratitude is its preferred note of tender.
When we show gratitude, rejoice always, and pray without ceasing, we die to our flesh and offer up our lives as a costly living sacrifice. This is how we mature spiritually to receive the abundant life of unconditional love God ordained for us through the Holy Spirit.
In 2011, my husband and I were getting ready for our upcoming nuptials, when our Pastor, Garth G. Gittens of Calvary Baptist Church In West Philadelphia, laid the foundational work for what we now know to be the greatest lesson one can ever master.
Love is a choice. Love is not a feeling or an obligation. It is a Heavenly command that we on Earth must abide in by choice in order for the sovereignty of God to rule over our lives above and beyond all principalities of division and wickedness in the Earth. The unconditional power of God’s Love is our spiritual wealth inheritance and our dividends from this trust must be chosen withdrawals daily.
Made In Their Image
We have become a world more accustomed to seeing and sitting with hate than we are believing in our spiritual inheritance of unconditional love.
Humanity has grown accustomed to lusting after the provisions of God’s promises without the spiritual maturity necessary to hear, listen, and obey The Word of God.
Pleasure without purpose is lust and lust is a gateway to sin, because the mark of God is not random or purposeless. Missing the mark of God by separating the provisions of the promise: beauty, pleasure, goodness, peace, joy etc. from the responsibility of stewarding the promise opens up pathways, doorways, and portals to the spirit of rebellion and demonic influence.
We must yield to the Word Of God over our promise. We must steward all our provisions according to this priority. We must be about our father’s business and seek to glorify God in all our ways with our entire being. This is why communing with God daily via spiritual practice and seeking to see, be, and experience life made in God's image is a critical pathway forward that all believers must adopt.
Choosing to love the life God has blessed us with always according to his Word is a lifesaving, game-changing, and very prosperous way of being.
Learning to surrender to Romans 12:1-2 and die to our flesh daily is the gospel. It is modeling ourselves after the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ again and again that the Holy Spirit may dwell in our hearts and make alms with us to offer up to The Body of Christ.
“We love him, because he first loved us.”
1 John 4:19 KJV
God is our maker. Without God, who is love, we are nothing. God is our superpower and the greatest provision for living and loving wonderfully that we could ever have. God is our portion. When we love the God who first loved us, who sees us, who cares for us unconditionally, and who designed us for his glory, all good things, which too come from him, will be added unto us. Our faithfulness to God builds the house of love necessary in our hearts and minds to house Heaven’s goodness sustainably in the Earth. This anchors us from being disconnected from the greatest love we could ever know.
The greatest lover of our souls is God. This is why he sent his son to die for our sins, because he loves us and desires to spend all eternity with us as his beloved.
When we sell God out for chicken change, like James Brown sings in his song, “the big payback,” we prostitute our souls for nothing.
“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.”
1 John 3:2-3
